1 of 3 Captured!! 08/09 Copa Del Rei Campions!!!

The Man Who Made It All Possible Getting The Bumps!!
Well well well......everybody said that we were tired...... exhausted...... not up to the task..... well a 4-1 demolition of Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday proved differently!! This weekend, Barça will travel to the sunny island of Mallorca, and all they need is 1 point to be crowned La Liga Champions! There is however the match at El Madrigal, Villarreal vs Real Madrid on Saturday night, and if the current Champions fail to win then Barça will be crowned champs before they even step onto the field on Sunday night!!

Back to the cup final, it was an amazing performance!! Athletic went ahead after 8 minutes from a header from Toquiera from a corner.... one of very few weak spots the Blaugrana have is from set plays, but it's nothing too much to worry about! Barça dominated possession, pinning the Basques back until finally breaking the deadlock with an excellent individual moment from Yaya Toure, and from that point onwards they were in full control and Jose Manuel Pinto was hardly tested! The second half started.... and same story, it took only 10 minutes for Leo Messi to bang the Blaugrana ahead 2-1 and that was pretty much it! Bojan added his name to the score sheet, and to put the icing on the cake, local boy Xavi Hernandez bent a supurb free kick into the top corner of the goal!!

Credit to the Bilbao fans, they continued to cheer on their team and it was an excellent spectacle for both teams, and both sets of fans. The final whistle went and the Barça players paid their respects to Athletic Bilbao and their fans, before the celebration ensued!!

Barça players salute the Catalan fans!

The traditional team photo, the cup and the winners board is in there somewhere haha!!

So Close, But There Is Next Week!

Well a 3-3 draw tonight, shame we could not wrap up the league title in front of our own fans but c'est la vie!! I am not sad about this to be honest because we are set to be champions, and we have to pick up 1 more win, and i am 100% sure that will come next weekend against RCD Mallorca. We were 3-1 up at half time tonight, and not for the first time this season we took our foot off the gas and got a little sluggish. I think that if we really put our minds to it we could have polished off Villarreal when needed, but to the defence of the players, it has been a gruelling schedule with the games against Valencia, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Chelsea again, all in the space of just 2 weeks but as i said it's no real problem as the La Liga title will be wrapped up next weekend.
On Wednesday there is the Kings Cup final against Athletic Bilbao and it's possible when 3-1 up the players had half a mind set on this game.
I have College tomorrow, but luckily it's not an early start!! I will be most likely meeting a friend or 2 in Starbucks in the morning, for a nice refreshing frappucino and then sit through classes wishing i was somewhere else lol!!
Adeu! Visca Barça!!

Potentially Campeones Tonight!!

Tonight could be the night that we once again see this image, of the Catalan Warrior - Carles Puyol getting his hands on the La Liga trophy crowning them the champions of Spain. Yes people, the champions of Spain are from Catalunya, oooo that must be a tough pill to swallow in Madrid :D

Valencia were amazing last night. They defeated the ''mighty'' Real Madrid 3-0 at the Estadio Mestalla, and it is almost the end to an amazing week for me! With a Barça win tonight it will be perfect! I will as usual be going out with my cousin to watch the game tonight, i shall be wearing my Barça shirt, and tonight i will be taking with me my beloved Catalan flag as an extra gesture of support!! I find it hard to imagine that i can eclipse the emotion and happiness i felt last Wednesday night when Andres Iniesta sent that ball flying into the top corner, shooting us to the Champions League final in Rome... however should Barça be crowned champions tonight, at home in front of the Camp Nou faithful, i think it's going to be a very special night and the emotion will be flowing just as strongly as Wednesday night. Afterall, considering the position we were in last season, and how the team ethics etc. were i never imagined that this season would be so amazing. Pep Guardiola is a hero in my eyes, and he has bought the best out of Henry, Eto'o, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Busquets..... et al!

Well time for me to now go and take a shower, and prepare some lunch :D

Visca Barça! i Visca Catalunya!!!

VISCA BARCA I VISCA CATALUNYA!!

FC Barcelona are in the Champions League final and playing Manchester United! However...... it is not Spain vs England like people keep saying.......it's CATALUNYA vs England. What a match it was, i was in Disneyland Paris at the time, watching the game vs Chelsea in the Sports Bar in the Disney Village and i was sad.... angry... and depressed for about 91 minutes and then bosh.... Andres Iniesta scores a goal that will remain with me forever, crashing it into the top corner sending the fans......the players.....and the coaching staff into a mad scene of celebration!! I was sitting down with a group of students from Sitges.... and it was a moment i will never forget, screaming and shouting my head off to the point where i had a sore throat for the next 2 days!!!
Looking ahead to this weekend, i am going to be routing for Valencia when they host Real Madrid because if they can defeat Real Madrid then Barca can be crowned champions the following day with a victory over Villarreal!!
I am new to this site, and this is my first post, so it may not be too good or too appealing to anybody haha!! But i'm sure i shall get the hang of it =)
Adeu a tothom!!
